NCAA Tourney Thursday Picks by the OTB Guys

We are finally here, the best weekend of the year. And yes, this weekend technically starts Thursday at 12:15PM. Also, in the best possible scenario St. Patrick’s Day is this weekend so nothing like blacking out and betting all 48 games. So here’s what were gonna do (Jason Statham voice). This list will include all picks for the games on Thursday 3/15, and a few OVER/UNDERS thrown in as well. We will pick every game against the spread and hopefully provide some brief insight to how we got there. Look out for Friday’s Picks LIVE on OTB Radio late Thursday night as well as our twitter and the Raleigh City Sports website. The weekend picks will follow as the tournament progresses, look out for all the info on our twitter @RadioOTB @RCitySports and

(10) Oklahoma vs. (7) Rhode Island (RI -1.5)

12:15 p.m.

Fuck Oklahoma for getting into the tournament just so Trae Young can show off for NBA scouts and potentially face Duke

(14) Wright State vs. (3) Tennessee (Wright State +13.5)

12:40 p.m.

Great defending team, Vols overachieved. Wright State post game will give the UT bigs problems all game

(13) UNCG vs. (6) Gonzaga (Gonzaga -12.5)

1:30 p.m.

UNCG has a high turnover rate, while Gonzaga gave up a lot of 3’s, but UNCG only shoots 35% from behind the arc. Looks to be a great battle on the boards with the Zags on top

(16) Penn vs. (1) Kansas (Kansas-14)

2 p.m.

Penn had 7 games against top 150 opponents went 42% from 3. Kansas loves to shoot the 3 and its basically a home game in Wichita

(15) Iona vs. (2) Duke (Iona +20)

2:45 p.m.

We are a very pro MAAC, that’s Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

(11) Loyola-Chicago vs. (6) Miami (Fla.) (Loyola-Chicago +3)

3:10 p.m.

Loyola Chicago has 5 players who average more than 10 points per)game and also shoot 40% from 3

(12) South Dakota State vs. (5) Ohio State (South Dakota State +8.5)

4 p.m.

OSU against the spread in their last 10 are -4, also have the lowest offensive turnover percentage in the country

(9) NC State vs. (8) Seton Hall (NC State +2)

4:30 p.m.

Go PACK that is all

(16) Radford vs. (1) Villanova (Villanova -23.5)

6:45 p.m.

Nova has the # offensive efficiency

(12) Davidson vs. (5) Kentucky (Kentucky -7)

7:10 p.m.

Kentucky is just too much, Davidson is a solid Mid-major, but the wildcats size and strength will just be too much for Davidson to handle

(11) San Diego State vs. (6) Houston (Houston-4)

7:20 p.m.

Houston is 17-10-1 ATS (Against the Spread) this year

(14) Stephen F. Austin vs. (3) Texas Tech (Stephen F. Austin +11)

7:27 p.m.

SF Austin runs a very fast paced tempo, they will try and dictate the speed of the game and throw off a Texas Tech team who runs a very slow game 250th ranked tempo in the country.

(9) Alabama vs. (8) Virginia Tech (Virginia Tech -2)

9:20 p.m.

VT covers 17-11 ATS

(13) Buffalo vs. (4) Arizona (Arizona -8.5)

9:40 p.m.

Arizona has two 7 footers, Buffalo 138th ranked defense

(14) Montana vs. (3) Michigan (Michigan-12)

9:50 p.m.

U of M (Which one?) Well it’s the team with the less cooler of the two nicknames and that would be the Michigan Wolverines, you may think that’s a pretty cool nickname, what could be better? Well Montana are simply the Griz, but despite having the better nickname Michigan cover  22-11-1 ATS

(11) St. Bonaventure vs. (6) Florida (Florida -5.5)

9:55 p.m.
