North Carolina FC traveled to Brooklyn to take on the Cosmos on their magic carpet field on Saturday afternoon and left with a 2-2 draw. NCFC trailed 1-0 early after Irvin Herrera scored a soft goal in the 7th minute. Soon after Billy ‘Chilly’ Schuler scored what could be the top goal of the season and was followed by a Lance Laing free kick goal to go into the half up 2-1.The Cosmos applied the pressure for most of the second half and it paid off with the equalizer by Kalif Alhassan in the 84th minute.
Colin Clarke went with the ‘A’ lineup and settled the debate if they’d go for the NASL win or rest for the Houston Dynamo on Wednesday. Clarke did sub out Fondy and Laing in the second half and there was a noticeable difference in play with the substitutions. In the end, we were able to grab a point but goals given up after the 80th minute continue to be a concern.
NCFC now sits with 15 points and fifth in the table.
Goal Of The Game: Billy ‘Chilly’ Schuler

Save Of The Match: Kareem Moses
He isn’t a keeper but he came up with some big stops in the second half that could’ve ended the game in a loss.
- James Marcelin left with an apparent quad issue. Get well soon James! Our clammy hammys idea can’t go into production soon enough.
- The turf was interesting. Looks like it was a bunch of 5×6 turf carpets sewn together.
- How ready are we for Wednesdays match against the Houston Dynamo?
