HURRICANES

Canes Start Break Early Against The Kings

The Hurricanes started their All-Star break about a day early this year by falling to the Kings 3-0 at the PNC Arena. This marks the fifth loss in a row for the Hurricanes. Both teams played flat for 55 minutes until the Kings’ Marian Gaborik and Trevor Lewis finally wore out Cam Ward  by putting in two goals  within 38 seconds of each other. The Canes went 0-4 on the power play and the only guy out there with any life was All-Star Justin Faulk.

I get it. I get it. It’s probably like when we were in middle school and right before spring break the teachers would just play movies the last couple of days. They were ready to get rid of you and ‘Jurassic Park’ had just enough science to be acceptable. Only this time you replace Samuel L Jackson saying “Hold on to your butts” with  Cam Ward just sitting on his butt and letting goals in.

Storm Warning: Nah, the weather department is on break too.

What’s Next?: The Hurricanes drop to 21-20-7 on the season and now sit seven points behind Philadelphia for the final playoff spot. A lot has changed in a week but not all hope is lost. The Eastern Conference is very tight for the last playoff spot so hopefully a little R&R will work for the Storm Boys.
