RECAP: Hurricanes vs Islanders

Another game, another another Hurricanes win. The Canes went down 3-1 earlier in the second period, but fought back for the 7-4 victory over the Islanders. Brock McGinn had a goal and three assists, while linemates Jordan Staal and Elias Lindholm each had a goal and two assists.

The Raleigh Hockey Club was in the right places at the right times for the second straight game and they closed out the homestand going 4-0 and improving to 14-1-1 over the last 16 games at home. Since the amazing comeback against the Canucks on 12/13/16, the Canes are 10-5 with every game being competitive. While the Islanders arent exactly world beaters, the way the Hurricanes are playing is impressive.

Whats Next?: Canes improved to 21-15-7 and now sit one point behind Philadelphia for the final wild card spot. Next game is Tuesday as the Canes travel to Columbus to play the league leading Blue Jackets.
