I think something special is brewing here in the capital city. I think we’re about to put the entire league on notice. Am I gonna regret saying this? Never. Gotta love it when an original six franchise rolls into town and you send them packing. Go Raleigh! Go Canes!

Cliff Notes: The Canes skated about as bad as a team could but still found a way to force OT and get the win. Boston dominated the Canes early, putting the good guys down 2-0. But a short handed goal by Jordan Staal combined with one hell of a goal by Justin Faulk (Free Queso!) evened it up through the end of regulation. Then our boy Tuevo Teravainen closed it out with the game winner in OT to win it 3-2.

Storm Category:   Category 1 Hurricane. I know. I know. We won. But this team looked flat the entire game. We won with pure heart (as is the Raleigh way) and heart is what moved them from a Tropical Storm to the vaunted Hurricane category.

Goal of the Game:  I was all set to give it to Justin Faulk (which you can see here ) but Tuevo Teravainen’s game winner is without a doubt the goal of the game.

Whats Next?: The Canes move to 15-11-7 on the season and will get a few days off for the Christmas break. They return to action on December 28th, when they visit the defending Stanley Cup Champs Pittsburgh Penguins.
