Sooooo… I don’t know where to start. Let’s just say if you’re dating someone who flipped the script as many times as the Hurricanes did tonight then we here at Raleigh City Sports would say…RUN!! This was a tale of two teams. The Hurricanes came out in the first to take a 2-1 lead and had me talking ‘soft’ to describe the Canucks. Then in the 2nd period the Hurricanes played one of the worst periods I have ever seen, swap out Cam Ward for Michael Leighton, and end the period trailing 5-2.  Jeff Skinner opens the 3rd period with a goal that ignites the Canes to scoring 6 goals in the period and finishing a miraculous comeback to win it 8-6. In total, 12 Hurricanes tallied at least one point on the evening.

STORM CATEGORY: Category 5 Hurricane!! I’d go higher but I can’t because the rules set forth in the Saff-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale.

CANES GOAL & PLAYER OF THE GAME: Jeff Skinner. Two goals and an assist speak for themselves. The goal may not be fancy, but that is just down home Raleigh hustle. We proud of you Jeff!

LOSER OF THE GAME: Nikita Tryamkin . Saw it with my own eyes. Lots of cheap shots after the whistle. They may let you do all that schoolyard bullying up there in Vancouver, Canada, but down here in Raleigh we like to respect one another eh?

WHATS NEXT?:  Well the Canes celebrated a great comeback with the Raleigh City Sports staff at The Office (It’s a real bar). We do have to say that Derek ‘Doc’ Ryan fella is a real wild man with the wine coolers. Next up is the Washington Capitals on Friday night at the PNC. Hopefully, this win is one of those watershed moments for the season and we can start to make up ground in the metropolitan.

Food Discounts: Raleigh either will have to make decisions or we will have a serious fast food problem.
